Wild Roses~

On Sunday my Little brother Jack and I went on a very enjoyable bike ride on our country dirt road. On the way I smelled a wonderful smell near our creek. I looked and it was a HUGE bush of Wild Roses! Jack and I picked a bunch, and now they sit on my school desk. My room smells like sweet roses. I LOVE it! Here is a picture of wild roses of the Internet. Have a Blessed day! Kari~*~

Pesto~

Hello! I was just going to write another short receipe for you all that I just made for Erv. Shabbat! It's Pesto Sause~ Ingredients: 2 Cups of Fresh Basil 4 Cloves of Garlic 1 Cup of Walnuts 1 Cup of oil Salt and Pepper to taste Put the first 3 ingredients in a food proseser and chop it all up( I added some oil to this so I did not mess up the processor). Then add the oil to the rest of the mixture and mix again. Add the salt and pepper to taste. Top this with some cheese for a great meal! You can put this on top of noodles or some bread.... It is really delicious! Enjoy! Kari~*~

Making Shampoo~

Hello! I am going to put a recipe on now for homemade shampoo, I just made this recipe today for the first time and it was really easy!
So here you go!

Homemade Shampoo~

Ingredients:

~ 1 Handful of Chamomile flowers, or Lavender, or Rose petals
~ 1 1/4 cups of Boiling water
~ 3 tablespoons of soap flakes ( shredded soap)
~ 1 tablespoon of Glycerin
~ 5 Drops of any essential oils you want to mix

1: Place the flowers in a bowel, and add the boiling water to it and mix. Then let It stand for 15 minutes, then strain the flowers into another bowel. You will not need the flowers any more.

2: In another bowel combine the soap flakes and hot mixture, stir. Let it stand again till the soap softens. Then add the glycerin and essential oil. Pour the mixture into a bottle and lable. Keep in a cool dark place.

When using this only use a tablespoon at a time, that is all you need! Have fun making it!

Busy Days

With the unleavened bread days ending tomorrow, I will hopefully be able to write more often. My Family and I have been going to our friends house that is 10 minutes away a lot this week to fellow ship with our friends. One day we just had fun playing games like basketball and jump rope. The other time we went was the day to read the Torah, Sing, Dance, and rest. Tomorrow there is a gathering at the park in town ( 30 minutes away) and there should be a LOT of people, I think about 16 families! It's going to be so fun!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The weather has been a little over cast and rainy. How is the weather there? Hopefully yours is a little nicer.
Well, it is 9:30 here and I need to get to bed!
Have a great evening and Shabbat Rest,
Passover
Yesterday was Passover. My family and I got up and started working right away. We set the table, swept, checked for leaven, cooked, butchered the goat, aranged veggie and fruit platters, and MUCH more!
We had 6 families at our Passover Seder. And alltogether there was 26 people! My Mom let us snack wile we were doing the Seder and by the time we were going to eat the goat meat, 3 different salads, and potatoes I was too full to eat more than a piece of meat and a sweet potato! The frig is so packed! Everyone stayed over , so we have been eating all the leftovers, and there is still a ton of food! We still have people here so I need to go!
Here is a receipe for
Toffee Matzo
Ingredients
4-8 matzos
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
pinch of salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees; Line a cookie with foil, then place parchment paper on top of the foil.
Cover the cookie sheet with a single layer of matzos. Fill gaps with smaller pieces of matzo so that the sheet is completely covered.
Cook the butter and brown sugar over medium heat in a sauce pan, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and pour over the matzo to cover completely.
Place the baking sheet in the oven, immediately reduce the heat to 350, and bake for 15 minutes. If it is browning too quickly lower the heat to 325.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with salt and chocolate chips. (Skip salt if using salted matzos of saltines.) Let stand for a few minutes so the chocolate melts, and then spread the chocolate over the matzo with the back of a spoon.
Break into pieces while still warm. Chill in the pan until set.
I made this receipe today, and I wanted to share it with you!
Enjoy!
Getting Ready For Passover
We are getting ready for Passover here at my house. And that means that EVERY room, crevice, and cranny have to be cleaned of leaven. But not only that part has to be cleaned, your heart and soul have to be clean and pure of leaven ( or Sin ). My family is having about 6 families and all together it is about 25 people. Also they all are going to stay here at our house for the night, so we are making beds, preparing food, and trying to get everything organized. So, are you all ready for Passover? Ready for a remembrance of Yeshua's death for us?
Bonanza
My sister Cassie and. Have been watching Bonanza episodes in the evening and ai just wanted to share some of the funny ones with you, so you can enjoy them too! Here they are...
~ A Knight To Remember
~ Three Wife's For Hoss
~The Wooing Of Abigail Jones
~ Old Sheba
~The Ponderosa Explosion
~ A Deck of Aces
~ One Deck to Many
If you want to know some other funny ones, just comment on the blog and I will try to get you some more! Oh! We have been watching them on You Tube.
Kari~*~
Tonight my Dad was away, so my Mom, Jack, and I had to put the goats away. Well, we got out there just before sunset and my brother and I herded the goats into the pen with our bikes and yelling a little too! ( my throat is a little horse right now!). Because my Dad and Mom milk in the morning, we have to put away the babys so they don't get the milk first, there is about 15 baby's to get, so Jack and I were trying to get them in by sneaking up on them of just running after them! If you ever seen a baby goat hop, skip, jump, of frolic you know that they are FAST. Right now I am just resting and so I thought I would write you a bit to let you know a little about goats. But on the other hand, they are cute when they are baby's, don't you agree?
Riding down the lane
Have you ever ridden your bike in the evening when it is getting cool and the sun is going down?
Isn't is so wonderful? I love to go on a bike ride right after dinner clean up and ride leserly in the light breeze after a hot day of work.
Yesterday that is just what I did. Where I live I my family and I are on a dirt road, when I first road on a dirt road I thought I would NEVER be able to ride on it. It was SO bumpy! But now I can ride easily and go around the bigger rocks. Yesterdy I rode for about a 1/2 mile then turned around. The sweet William flowers are out and they are so beautiful! They are small purple flowers that get to be a darker purple in the middle.
They smell like sweet perfume and you wish you could smell them all the time, but some of the other flowers around here don't have any smell but look just as pretty. Last year I tried to press one of each flower till the end of the year. It was really hard! But now I have a small binder full of pressed flowers that I can look at!
I hope you all have a Blessed day!
Spring Fun
Today our temperature was 90 degreese with a high present of humidity. So after some lunch and school work my older sister Cassie and I brought my little brothers Jack and Luke to the creek on our property. The creek water was soooo cold, but it sure did cool us off well! I brought a tube and every rime I tried to flote around little Luke would jump on me and make me fall into the ice cold water! Really the creek is only about 2 and 1/2 feet deep where we were. But it was not fun falling into the cold water still! It was still fun though!
Have you all ever went swimming in a creek?
